Adulting is hard

Approximately in 2007, I opened a bank account. I opened it online because I hate interacting with people in real life so I figured it was a better option. I thought I was really smart doing it this way until I realized that I put in the incorrect date of birth. I decided I would leave that for future Vanessa to deal with and went on with my life.

A few years later, I had to call up the bank and discuss something that I couldn't find the answer to online. When they asked what my date of birth was, I gave them the incorrect one. Well, the incorrect one that was actually correct on their system. I think I made a joke about it being wrong but the Indian man Rajeet? didn't understand so I just left it as it was.

Fast forward to 2019, I have had this bank account for over 12 years. Somehow the problem hasn't resolved itself, it's just gotten worse. Now my bank account is in the wrong name (because I got married) and has the wrong date of birth. Sometimes when I have some down time I like to think about changing it but then remember that it requires filling out a form and getting things certified. Seems like a lot of work for a clumsy mistake. I'll just leave it for another few years and see if it goes away.

I don't know how to end this story. That is all.

Update 2022. I have removed all my money from this account and just continue to live as if it doesn’t exist, knowing full well that the account is open and will probably outlive all of us.
